Prof. Baltazar Namwata

Prof. Baltazar Mlagara Lyamongo Namwata is a Tanzanian academic, researcher, and development consultant specializing in development studies and rural development planning. He is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) in Dodoma and serves as Coordinator of Consultancy Services. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences, an MSc in Agricultural Education and Extension, and a BSc in Agriculture. His research interests include community participation, climate change adaptation, livelihoods, gender, poverty, and vulnerability. Prof. Namwata has published widely and worked with government institutions and international organizations, including UNICEF, USAID, Plan International, and World Bank–supported programmes, contributing to inclusive and sustainable development in Tanzania.
