Climate for Change Tanzania (C4C-Tanzania) plays a pivotal role in unlocking climate finance to fuel adaptation and mitigation efforts, addressing the funding shortfall that hampers Tanzania's response to escalating climate threats. With our 2025 founding and Dodoma headquarters facilitating nationwide outreach, we specialize in mobilizing diverse funding streams—from international grants to domestic green bonds—ensuring that resources reach grassroots projects in vulnerable areas. Our expertise lies in de-risking investments and building financial literacy among local actors to maximize impact.

We assist communities and organizations in navigating complex funding landscapes, including the Green Climate Fund and African Development Bank mechanisms, by offering proposal development support, financial modeling, and compliance training. C4C-Tanzania has facilitated over $5 million in funding for initiatives like mangrove restoration in coastal Rufiji and drought-resistant infrastructure in central Dodoma, partnering with banks and NGOs to blend public and private capital. These efforts prioritize equity, directing funds to women-led enterprises and indigenous groups disproportionately affected by climate variability.

Through innovative tools like carbon credit schemes and climate insurance pilots, we create sustainable revenue models that incentivize low-emission practices while providing safety nets against losses. Early pilots in the southern regions have streamlined funding disbursement, cutting approval times by 50%.

Our strategic vision includes advocating for a dedicated Tanzanian Green Fund, seeded with international contributions and domestic revenues from eco-taxes, to provide revolving loans for scalable climate solutions. By capacity-building local financial institutions in green lending, we ensure enduring access to capital, fostering a cycle of investment that sustains Tanzania's low-carbon transformation.
