Renewable Energy Programme

Promoting access to clean energy sources and technologies for a sustainable Tanzania.

About Our Renewable Energy Programme

Advocacy remains key, as we push for regulatory reforms and subsidies to make renewables competitive, while fostering private sector investment through public-private partnerships. This program embodies our commitment to networking and awareness-raising, connecting Tanzanian innovators with global expertise to accelerate the energy transition. Ultimately, renewable energy under C4C-Tanzania supports Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Goal 13 (Climate Action), paving the way for a low-carbon, electrified Tanzania that harnesses its solar potential to power inclusive growth.

Innovating further, we are exploring mini-hydro projects along Tanzania's rivers to provide baseload power to remote villages, combined with battery storage solutions to ensure reliability during dry seasons. These efforts include community ownership models that allow locals to share in revenue generation, promoting financial sustainability.

As we look to the horizon, C4C-Tanzania aims to integrate smart grid technologies in urban centers like Dar es Salaam, enabling efficient energy distribution and demand management. Through youth-led innovation challenges, we nurture the next generation of renewable energy engineers, ensuring Tanzania's energy future is both green and self-reliant.
