Climate Services Programme

Providing climate data, early warnings, and science-based information to aid decision-making.

About Our Climate Services Programme

We advocate for policy integration of these services into national frameworks, such as the Disaster Management Act, to institutionalize data-driven resilience. This program amplifies our awareness-raising efforts by demystifying climate science for everyday Tanzanians, fostering trust in evidence-based action. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action), C4C-Tanzania's climate services build a proactive society, transforming uncertainty into opportunity and positioning Tanzania as a regional leader in climate intelligence.

Enhancing our offerings, we are rolling out participatory mapping tools that allow communities to contribute indigenous knowledge to climate models, improving accuracy for localized predictions. In partnership with tech firms, these tools have been deployed in high-risk areas like the Usambara Mountains, yielding more precise landslide warnings.

Forward-thinking, C4C-Tanzania plans to establish a national climate data center that aggregates real-time inputs from IoT devices across ecosystems, enabling predictive analytics for long-term planning. By offering free access to this data for researchers and policymakers, we democratize climate intelligence, empowering Tanzania to lead in evidence-based environmental stewardship.
