At Climate for Change Tanzania (C4C-Tanzania), gender mainstreaming is a cornerstone of our approach to climate action, ensuring that the distinct vulnerabilities and contributions of women and men are integrated into every program and policy initiative. Established in 2025 with our Dodoma headquarters serving as a hub for national coordination, we recognize that women, who often bear the brunt of climate impacts in areas like water collection and food production, must be central to solutions. Our efforts promote gender equity by challenging traditional roles and amplifying women's leadership in environmental governance across Tanzania's diverse communities.

We deliver targeted interventions such as gender-sensitive training modules, women-led cooperatives for climate-resilient enterprises, and advocacy campaigns that influence policy at local and national levels. C4C-Tanzania partners with organizations like the Tanzania Gender Networking Programme to conduct awareness sessions in regions such as Mwanza and Zanzibar, where cultural barriers limit women's participation. These programs equip participants with skills in climate advocacy and resource management, fostering inclusive decision-making processes that lead to more effective and equitable outcomes in disaster response and sustainable resource use.
